I have an idea for a blog, but I'm not sure if it's feasible. The premise would be something along the lines of finding joy in the small things, a sort of "joy comes in the morning" project.
The idea came to me on Monday. Sunday night I restrung my newer guitar and it's the first time I've replaced the strings on it, and it's the first time I've done it by myself. Monday morning when I started to play Norwegian Wood, I experienced an overwhelming sense of joy simply at the feel of six new strings.
I think life should be more about experiencing and appreciating those moments instead of dwelling on overwhelming negatives constantly.
In a sense, I think I would like to have the blog be a project I updated three or four times a week. The ideas I've been turning over in my head include having a day for author quotes, song quotes, a poetry day, and a story day. Ideally I would like to have most of the content be from other people than myself.
I think this is something I would like, but I'm curious if it seems appealing to others.

In the garden center,
the Dahlias are blooming,
a deep, luscious red.
Dahlias are a complex flower,
a web of overlapping,
curling petals
wrapped in ever smaller circles.
You loved Dahlias.
You tended them every year:
white and yellow
but mostly red.
I bet you never knew
the scientific name for Dahlias:
Dahlia hortensis
or their traditional meaning:
forever thine.
I doubt you ever cared
that red is the color of royalty.
My earliest memory of you is
watching as you painted your nails
red,
a red so dark
it made me think of the blood you drew
to test your sugar.
In the garden today,
my Dahlias are blooming,
a deep, luscious red.
I am reminded of another day,
when you held my squirming fingers,
and coated my nails in your war paint,
red nail varnish.

I love my room, seriously. I'm so glad I moved here and I'm so glad that we painted it this way.
It makes the room feel like there's love seeping out of the walls.
